Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for your letter dated March 10. I am sending a book for your daughter.I need to correct a misunderstanding. The inscription "export abroad is prohibited" has nothing to do with politics. It was introduced at the request of the émigré publishing house in Paris, the Literary Institute because the institute is the publisher of my books and sells them abroad. This means that the ban on exporting my books from Poland protects my emigrant publisher from competition.

Best wishes to you and your daughter
/s/ Czeslaw Milosz.
