Washington DC, et. al. United States George Washington Bicentennial Commission, 1932. From the estate of George M. Martin, Harrah Washington, on the Yakima Indian Reservation. Mr. Martin was elected as the General Chairman for the celebration of Harrah's Bicentennial Committee. Includes 7 TLS (3 with original signatures, the other four are facsimile) from the National Associate Director, Sol Bloom who was also a Congressman from the west side of Manhattan, NY. The letters provide guidance for the conduct of all programs to celebrate the bicentennial. TL describing the schedule of events for celebration which was held on Feb 26, 1932. Also included are three letters from tree farm related enterprises; Nationwide Tree Planting was the civic contribution associated with the 200th Anniversary at the time of our Nation's deepest depression.
