
The Seal of the State of Oregon
Salem, OR: c. 1939. SIGNED by two mid-twentieth century governors of Oregon. 8" x 6.25", with the gold embossed Seal of Oregon in the center above its description. Seals are rubbed and have some fading. Seal with Sprague's signature is has smudges and pin hole in bottom right corner. Very good. Item #2673
"...shall be an escutcheon, supported by thirty-three stars, and divided by an ordinary, with the inscription, 'The Union". In chief - mountains, an elk with branching antlers, a wagon the Pacific Ocean, on which a British man-of-war departing, an American steamer arriving." (Citation).
