College Years Scrapbook

Corvallis, OR: 1921 - 1926. Maroon felt over flex boards with a two hole binding, fastened by screws and Sigma Phi Sigma logo stitched on the cover. 15" x 11", 34 pp. containing more than 160 items of memorabilia from the creator's four years at the Oregon Agricultural College, 24 pp. with 86 B&W photos of her school days and 37 inscriptions on 3 pp. from Irene's classmates. This is a marvelous item of collected ephemera which commemorates a young woman's time at the school. Items included give a personal insight to what motivated a young college coed. She was a popular member of Sigma Phi Sigma sorority, and apparently a lover of dance as evidenced by a score of her filled-in dance cards. Some of other items are menus from events, table favors, Commencement Programs for the Class of 1926, placement cards from banquets, Holiday cards (Valentines Day, Halloween, St. Patrick's Day), programs from sporting events, theater productions and vaudeville shows.

Irene Maxine Rauh McKinley (1903–1990), married William G. McKinley in 1927. Following marriage the couple lived for several years in Seattle before settling in Portland, OR. All items are very good, having been tipped onto the pages, with an occasional crush from the pages. Item #2533

Price: $225.00
