Archie W. (Archibald Williamson) Shiels (May 26, 1878 - Sep 1974) was a construction executive of railroads across Alaska and the Yukon for 20 years. Shiels joined the Pacific American Fisheries in 1916, and served as President of the company from 1930-1946. Shiels had an avid interest in Russian America and Alaska. He was a voluminous collector, author and frequent guest speaker. It is not unlikely that he entertained Harding on his Alaskan leg of the tour. Item #1178
